What is your life’s purpose? Do you suffer? Do you find hope and meaning in your life under all circumstances?
It is helpful for us to consider the Israelites situation,
the ‘faith’ principles that arise and apply them to our lives.
God is not promising a life that is easy.
There are always the mysterious and hard to fathom events that overtake God’s people. There are times when the faith of believers is severely tested.
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.” Jeremiah 29:11-14
Remember Daniel thrown into the lions den.
Shadrack, Meshach & Abednego thrown into the burning furnace.
There is always the need for the people of God to keep on believing in the sovereign power of God who works out everything in accordance with his plan and purpose.
Trust God will work out the details.
Because of His faithfulness we have hope for the future.
There is hope in the face of adversity because God is faithful.
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will—to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding, he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfilment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ. In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, in order that we, who were the first to put our hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory. And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory. Ephesians 1:3-14
Those who seek the Lord with all their heart and put their hope in His promises will not be disappointed.
